先日、ベトナム保健省の副大臣がICOを訪れた際のインタビュー模様のご報告。
たかが一人の日本人がボランティアに参加しているだけで、ここまで注目されることに戸惑っているというのが正直な感想だ。

Japanese experts supporting against COVID-19 in Bac Giang: "I admire the solidarity of the Vietnamese people during the pandemic"

According to Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, General Director of ICO International Human Resources Joint Stock Company (Bac Giang City), on June 1, when Bac Giang is the hottest on the epidemic, local authorities have called on units and businesses in the area to provide support for facilities to make accommodation for health sector forces from all over the country to support Bac Giang.

In the spirit of "anti-epidemic like anti-laundry", ICO company is ready to dedicate the entire housing area of staff and students to the medical force of 142 people of Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy and Hanoi Medical College.

In order to support the medical staff staying at ICO Company, up to 10 volunteers are ready to participate in the service. The most special of them is the Japanese expert named HiToShi MuKai, officer of ICO Company.

According to Mr. HiToShi MuKai, he has been coming to Vietnam beautifully since 2014 and since then he has been involved in the management and training of trainees for ICO International Human Resources Joint Stock Company.

In mid-May and early June, at the time of the COVID-19 outbreak in Bac Giang province, when he learned that there were medical staff coming to the company to stay, he volunteered to become a waiter, supporting the force to be able to fight the epidemic in the most effective way.

Mr. HiToShi MuKai has a lot of affection for Vietnam

Mr. HiToShi MuKai's daily mission is to clean, disinfect and assist others in receiving food and drink for the medical staff.

A working day for Mr. MuKai as well as other volunteers usually starts at 5:30 am, the break depends on the specifics of the work of the medical staff to take samples for field tests.

Even many days, the delegation went on duty until 2am the next morning to return, volunteers like Mr. MuKai were still happy, enthusiastic to serve food.

Japanese experts wish to contribute a small part of efforts to help Bac Giang soon repel the epidemic

When asked about why he stayed in Vietnam and volunteered to support the anti-epidemic health force, Mr. HiToShi MuKai said: "I have been with the country for 6 years and the people of Vietnam should have very special feelings for this place. Vietnam is like my second homeland, I love this country so I want to contribute a very small part of my efforts to the fight against and repel COVID-19. With this decision, I received absolute trust and support from relatives and family in Japan".

According to the Japanese expert, during nearly half a month of supporting the health workers to prevent and control the epidemic in Bac Giang, he really understood their hard work and noble sacrifice.

"There are days when the outdoor temperature in Bac Giang is up to 40 degrees Celsius, looking at the image of medical staff having to wear level 4 and level 6 protective costumes, the more I admire their stamina and resilience. Amidst all the difficulties and hardships, they always showed a spirit of joy and optimism. Looking at the way Vietnam faces and responds to the pandemic, I truly admire the great spirit of solidarity of your people. Hopefully the epidemic will pass soon, so that everyone can return to a normal life as it is", mr. HiToShi MuKai emotionally shared.

According to the evaluation of colleagues and students of the medical and pharmacy school who are staying at ICO Company, Mr. HiToShi MuKai is a friendly, friendly person who is ready to help those around him in the best way possible.
